Projects currently underway in Calhoun:

Skate Park Construction

Agent, Curtis Garretson, is working with several community groups and the youth of Calhoun to raise the funding and develop a skate park at the Calhoun County Park, Mt. Zion. Currently this project is in the beginning stages and the committee is actively seeking grants and fund-raising opportunities.

Calhoun Christmas Connection

A one day event in which pre-approved applicants based on need, come to the Armory at Big Bend and will choose one large toy, two medium toys, two small toys, books, hats and gloves, wrapping paper, and Christmas decorations for each child. Each approved family will also receive many food items to help with Christmas dinner. The event will be held on December 17th.

Collaborating Partners:
WVU Extension Service, Calhoun County, Family Resource Network, Grantsville Foodland, Minnie Hamilton Health System, Dollar General, Community Resource Network, US Armory in Big Bend, Sunny Cal Gals, Glamor Gals, Minnora Mission, and Community Volunteers.

The group is currently accepting donations of: New toys, hats, scarves, mittens, Christmas decorations, books, and monetary donations.
